La conteuse d'histoires : Hélène Lussier

The storyteller: Hélène Lussier

“Each staging tells a story and arouses an emotion.”

A window dresser at 3 Femmes et 1 Coussin, Hélène has been immersing us in an artistic universe all her own for 14 years. Her work dazzles passers-by on Gilford and Saint-Hubert Streets throughout the seasons.

Her inspiration comes from the elegant and unique pieces that dominate the walls of 3 Femmes et 1 Coussin. Patterns, colors and materials combine so that Hélène can bring the shop windows to life.

Why does your style fit so well with the brand’s universe?
I think we share the same artistic sensibility. 3 Femmes et 1 Coussin selects unique and rare pieces, and few places in Montreal offer such neat, almost signature window displays.

The unusual attracts the eye, between the unusual and the extraordinary.

Which showcase project are you most proud of?

I like the idea of telling a story through my windows, of slipping hidden messages into them. For example, in a spring window, I placed birds perched on a cage, but never locked inside, to evoke freedom. Sometimes, a simple plate or a particular atmosphere is enough to feed my imagination and guide my sketches.
