Carsten Gollnick was born in 1966 in Berlin and graduated in industrial design from the Braunschweig School of Fine Arts in 1992. He considers his professional experience in South Korea in 1996 as pivotal in the conceptual development of his work.

In 2002, he returned to his hometown and currently runs his own company, Carsten Gollnick Design, which is renowned for its quality and innovation in product design and interior design. Carsten Gollnick, known for creating a "culture of objects," has an impressive track record, including multiple Red Dot Design Awards and iF Design Production Awards, as well as being featured in the International Design Yearbook 2001, among many other accolades. He has been collaborating with Vista Alegre since 2010.
