Sam Baron
Born in France in 1976, Sam Baron graduated in Design from the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design de Saint-Étienne and holds a postgraduate degree from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Baron continuously reinterprets traditional construction methods, challenging the utility of contemporary production materials in his work.
As an independent designer and consultant, Sam Baron has worked for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Vista Alegre, Bosa, L'Oréal, Benetton, and Dinh Van, and collaborates with design companies like Ligne Roset, Christofle, and Secondome Edizioni, among others. He currently heads the design department at Fabrica, Benetton's communication and research center in Treviso.
In January 2009, he received the Grand Prix de la Création from the City of Paris in the design category and was selected by Philippe Starck as one of the most important designers of the next decade at the Maison & Objet trade show. Among his other awards are the Silver Cuve from the New York Art Director Club and the Yellow Pencil from the London Art Director Club.
